My painting “Scars and Strife” is about the deep wounds carried by veterans and the struggles faced by civilians today. This piece shows the physical and emotional scars of those who served, as well as the hardships many Americans experience now.
The broken and distressed American flag in the artwork represents the pain and sacrifice of our veterans. At the same time, the flag’s damaged state reflects the challenges and divisions we face as a society.
This work is meant to honor the strength of those who have suffered and to remind us all of the need to come together and heal. It calls for recognition of our shared struggles and hopes for a future of unity and understanding.
